Supporting Women in London

In February 2009, the Ministry of Justice committed £15.6 million to build the capacity of one stop shop services at women’s centres and other specialist provision for women offenders in the community, with the aim of diverting women from custody. WIP was awarded a 2-year grant in May 2009 to extend our successful model of assertive outreach in the community throughout London, enabling us to provide additional services in prisons, magistrate’s courts and a number of women’s centres.
