Together in Power 2025-2030

Women in Prison’s strategy, Together in Power: A Plan for Real Justice for Women 2025-2030, sets out our ambition to build lasting systems change that radically reduces the harm experienced by women in contact with the criminal justice system by 2030.

Rooted in centring women’s lived experience and working for systems change, Together in Power presents a roadmap to challenge the structural inequalities that sweep women into contact with the system and to provide transformative, community-based support that means women claim their safety, rights and agency.

At the heart of the Together in Power strategy is collaboration. This strategy was shaped alongside women with lived experience of the criminal justice system, ensuring their voices and insights drive our priorities. Through extensive consultation with frontline organisations, partners, and supporters, we have built a strategy that reflects the realities of women’s lives and the urgent need for transformative solutions.

We will amplify the voices of women with lived experience, advocate for policy change, and challenge the injustices that sweep women into the criminal justice system.

Together with women with lived experience, we will develop community-based support that addresses the root causes of criminalisation, ensuring women have access to the resources and opportunities they need.

We will strengthen Women in Prison to be an even more effective force for change—growing our movement, expanding our reach, and ensuring our work remains driven by the needs of women.
